The Challenge
Our client’s large multi-hospital healthcare system is going through challenges in managing and utilizing patient data efficiently as their system is fragmented, inefficient, outdated and have limited interoperability and security concerns.
The healthcare system is looking for a web-based portal that can handle scattered patient information, have intuitive interfaces, and go through no difficulty in exchanging data with external healthcare department providers, and can also manage patients’ sensitive data without any risk of security breaches.
The solution
- For a secure and centralized repository, we integrated the existing EHR systems using APIs and standard healthcare data exchange formats, ie, HL7, FHIR
- For a user-friendly and intuitive web-based interface that provides an efficient way to access and interact with patient data, we added role-based access control and advanced search and filtering capabilities, implemented support for industry-standard APIs and data exchange formats, and also developed a secure data sharing mechanism that complies with HIPAA regulations.
- For robust security measures, we implemented comprehensive security measures that involve strong encryption both in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication, regular security audits, and detailed audit trails.
- We designed a scalable and flexible structure for future growth and evolving healthcare needs that includes the usage of cloud-based technologies and enables independent scaling and deployment of individual components.
